Virus disabled internet and start menu

Hello,





I am definitely new in computer language so I will only explain my PC's symptoms the best I can. I have Windows XP Professional and have Super AntiSpyware and Webroot installed on my computer. Webroot discovered a virus which name I can't remember (probably bad. ?) and asked me to quarantine and restart. After restart Start Menu was gone, Internet access was restricted, disabled both antivirus and doesnt let me reinstall or uninstall and doesn't let me system restore. I tried safe mode, but nothing changes. Help! ai do have a laptop with internet so i can download any software and install on pc. =) thank u in advance.

3. Once all checked, click on Fix Checked and close Hyjackthis.

4. Download, install and run Malwarebyte which you can find on this site:

https://ccm.net/downloads/security-and-maintenance/4621-malwarebytes-anti-malware/ es-anti-malware

Ensure you make an update.

Please request a FULL system scan, which may take from 20 minutes to hours. Do not interfere no matter how long in takes. The creators of Malwarebyte recommend that while the tool is running that you go do something else, such as watching a rerun of Gone with the Wind or read Tolstoy's War and Peace.

If Malwarebyte restarts your system, launch it again to finish the Full scan.

When the scan is completed, delete all items found.

Once your computer is clean and working normally just to be on the safe side
*Turn off system restore and wait 30 seconds,
*Turn it back on and create a new restore point.

This way it gets rid of anything bad that might have gotten saved in a restore point and you have a clean restore point to use in the near future if needed.
Do not turn it off until your computer is clean and working normally because you might need to use it if something goes wrong during the clean-up process.
It is better to go back to an infected restore point if something goes wrong then to not be able to undo changes that were damaging.

Please let me know the results for if you do not, I may throw a curse on your system which will cause it to bark all the time.:)))

Before I try this, I did try to install spywaredoctor but wouldnt install, is malaware like hijack that doesnt need running for installation?.... how can i update on the pc if there is no network adapters or anytrace of network connections on the pc? Another thing I dont know how after 25 attempts the computer gave me access to the last detection of webroot, and the virus name is Mal/Generic-A. Also, I noticed I had a folder named new.net which after searching online on my laptop supposedly does things to the computer and does mess with internet connections.. I expect your soon reply, pleaseeeee.... Thank you!!!!!

p.s. i downloaded the setup for spyware doctor and malaware on my usb to be installed on the pc, but spyware doctor wouldnt install. No error message , just the process wouldnt go through.

Hello Bebita,

You may recall that I gave you some specific instructions on how to remove the virus and do not recall that Spyware Doctor was part of those instructions. You must do what I have written or I will my efforts are useless.

As for the file you found, I must know the name before I reply, if is SYMLCSV1.exe your can delete it.

Once you delete it the registry entries with Hyjackthis you may get access to Internet through safe mode with networking or plain normal mode to permit you to run none other than Malwarebyte
