Steam is one of the best distribution platforms for video games - it is available for Windows and Mac.

Main Points Generally cheaper than buying DVD's/CD's. Has some exclusive games. Very good software and it's free to download and use.
Weak Infos You need to have a good download speed/limit. Also, if you read the eula when you buy a game, you actually don't own the game, Steam just lends it to you; you can't move a game from a profile to another profile or get a refund for anything unless it's prepurchased; they can delete your account for no reason at all at any time; and if you get banned by Steam's VAC system they cannot ever undo this even if your account got hacked and the hacker cheated on a game.
