It is a real deal but free!

Everyone who can use it will love it.

I have been using Basic since it was shipped as part of DOS. In those days it was called Basica an interpretor language. Then I ran through the compiler versions,Quick Basic, Turbo Basic, Power Basic, Visual Basic etc.

This one has integrated features to access MS Office documents, like read write Excel spreadsheets, so anyone who complains it better give a reason or tell us a better free product!

no. visual studio 2010 is the latest version. i suggest if your learning use 2008 as there are plenty more tutorials on line for examole youtube.

i have downloaded visual basic 8 twice and it has downloaded some files but sometimes crashes. i need to restart it. i sended the error report. i hope it is fixed.

the express edition is pretty useless if your looking to do any serious programming. Handy if you want to learn basic programming but not much else

I think that this program brings a lot to the table in terms of usability and expansiveness, but ultimately falls apart with clunky gameplay and a muddled plot.
