Facing poor resolution in Ubuntu 9.10Closed

Hello, 
        Dear friends i'm new user of ubuntu. and i am facing problem of poor resolution 800x600==== i am using Gateway system E series 4100.
if some one can help me then it will great thanks to him/her.

go to top left...system tools....should be a display option...or try right clicking on desktop and finding a display option
