Black Screen Laptop contents very faint

Hello,
My daughters laptop (Toshiba) just went blink. The screens not comming on. You can view the screen contents very faintly and nothing that we've done seems to work. Removing battery, disconnecting power cable, holding down the power switch etc. The computers working fine if we use an external screen.
Any suggestions anyone ?

Greetings,

Your problem is similar to others on this forum where there is a faint appearance of the desktop.

The lamps must be replaced. I hope that your warranty is still valid.
