Hello,
I have a large number of files in my Download folder. Can I delete them all or are there some files that must remain in the Download folder?

Yes and no. Some downloaded programs may have built folders within the download folder. They can't be deleted if you want these programs to work. Other downloaded files like Flash or Firefox are OK to delete. I would leave folders alone and only delete downloaded files.
