Internet explorer and firefox will not connec

Hello,
I cannot get internet explorer or firefox to connect. i've tried spybot and malware byte and nothing seems to work. A few weeks back I noticed fake antivirus appearing on my computer, so I removed it usind spybot. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

Try resetting your Internet Protocol (TCP/IP). Just follow the instructions.

1) Click on Start ----> click on Run -----> type cmd and click on OK. Command

Propmpt will be opened.

2) then type this command

netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt

then press Enter.

It rewrites two registry keys that are used by TCP/IP.

3) Reboot your computer.

Thank you. I'll try it later tonight. Hopefully it works. If not do you know of any other problems it could be?

I do have an internet connection, because the technician from the DSL company came out and verified with his laptop hardwired into the modem. Would your solution still fix the problem?

May be your TCP/IP got damaged or corrupted in your system. So try the above solution to fix
it.

I just tried the above solution and it didn't work. Do you have any other suggestions?
