Hello Corry,
You probably used the same basic data for your husband while your temp files etc were still connected to gmail.
Attempt to delete your husband's account first to recover yours.
Should you wish again to open a new account for your dearly beloved, ensure that you start fresh cleaning your cache, temp files, cookies, etc for all of your previous data is retained.
