I purchased a new Toshiba satellite C650 without OS and I'm using Ubuntu 10.4. The installation was difficult and the threads helped me to install the Ubuntu 10.4 with ACPI - off. Now i had installed bu without the Fn keys and auto shut off. A thread has helped me to upgrade the BIOS. I've also download the BIOS update file. Now my question is whether it can be install from Ubuntu? Please answer me how to install the BIOS update.

Via linux you cannot install it but be sure to know what you are doing if this is wrongly installed you will not be able to roll back the bios update and motherboard must be replaced.
