Please HELP -cd drive wont read my CDR videos

Hello,
My CD drive was burning music and videos just perfectly up until a few days ago.
i have recently tride to burn a cd r with my videos on it.
When i pop the CD into the drive the cd rom drive appears and i can hear the drive trying to read it but then nothing happens. i dont get a pop up asking me what program i want to use to read the CD like i normally would.
i have put in one of the older cds with picture images/music and it will work but it wont read my videos anymore.
its very important to me as its my sons new born videos that im trying to burn.
PLEASE help, i know nothing about computers.
