Hello,
The monitor is black on bootup of new hard drive. Will not show initial motherboard sequence. Same with different monitor. Swapped video card, no change. Running Windows XP.

Hello,

Try this 1.

If you failed to get the display in your monitor screen even when its switched ON

and CPU FAN is running then remove the RAM from the slot, clean it and place it

back properly or try another slot. Check your RAM also. Even bad RAM will result

in display problem.

Check your video card also.

Good Luck.

monitor suddenly displays only a black screen ,,,
I had a very stable set-up in use day in day out with no problems:
My monitor suddenly displays nothing ... It is on yet the screen is black.
Had been functioning well.
Computer is working.. Power supply, fans, etc. all good.
I plugged it in to a different computer and the monitor works.
(A different monitor works on my computer.)
Hooked it back up to my computer and still the monitor will not work.
Any suggestions?
