Install Linux

I bought the same dell inspiron 1464 recently, and faced same problem while installing win xp. For my project work i need to install linux os (Red hat or ubuntu or open suse).
but when am trying to install linux black screen only comes and stopped working.

Can u pls tell me the solution to solve this problem..

Guys help me to install linux in our dell inspiron 1464..

Dear Sir,

Please check whether the specific problem is not coming from your graphic card. It might be that you need to have it upgraded in order to have the problem solved.
