Hello,
I just got a new laptop for Christmas and I cannot seem to figure out how to access the internet using the same provider I already have with the families PC. We have Bellsouth DSL and I just cant seem to figure out how to set it up without having to unhook the conection for the PC and hooking it to the laptop. Which just makes it pointless to own the laptop without internet and/or having to go to the computer room and unhook the PC just to use the laptop. Please help!

Thanks!

you need to do a nic card reset or stack rebuild on the network connection.
going to the control panel and the to network and internet .
then ckick on network and sharing centre.
on the left you will see control panel home, then you will click on change adapter setting.
if using local area connection! right ckick and the disable- right click again and the enable- this is a nic reset.
