can anyone plz tell me how to lookup a user name and machine name using ip address in ubuntu linux.

Hi there,

You can only look up for the IP address no matter what operating system you are using.

thanks for your reply. when i use nbtstat -a <ipaddress> in windows it gives me the host name and mac address. but when i try the same command in ubuntu linux it doesn't show me either the host name or mac address. was there any other command that i can use. i appreciate any suggestions.
