PS3 on standard TV

Hello, ive spent weeks and weeks trying to get my ps3 to work again , i was over at a friends house and plugged my ps3 into his hd tv, and now having the ps3 back ive spent weeks trying different things to get it to work it will not work on my standard tv again. if someone knows what to do to help. you would be the best person ever!!! xxxxx
