Hello,

I recently bought a new computer and installed GTA4 on it. When I started playing the first time, I ran the benchmark and everything was supurb.
But once in the game, it didn't run smoothly at all.

Now, I played this game on my old PC (on low specs), so I don't understand why it won't run properly on my new one.

Can anyone help me?

These are my specs:

2,80 gigahertz Intel Core i7 860
32 kilobyte primary memory cache
1024 kilobyte secondary memory cache
8192 kilobyte tertiary memory cache
64-bit ready
Multi-core (4 total)
Hyper-threaded (8 total)
NVIDIA GeForce GT 330

How much RAM do you have? And 64-bit ready means that it can handle 64bit, but does it mean that it is 64 bit? Also, try giving a more detailed description of the problem. Is it not loading all the way? Does it have choppy graphics? Etc, etc.
Thanks.

I have 6GB RAM

It's certainly a 64 bit OS

When I am riding in a car the game lags (the frame stops for a millisecond every second, now and then...)

Thx for the swift reply!

Sorry for being late to respond back, but Thanksgiving doesn't slow down much over here.
Is this online? If so, it could be your latency, if it's not online, then it could be a myriad of problems. Unless it's solved, which it could be...Erm. Is it solved? I don't want to look like an idiot posting some huge response to something that's already solved. :3

Nope, still the same problem, it's not online.

I tried lowering the graphics and stuff, but even on lowest it lags...

I just don't understand why I could play it smoothly on my old ^c, but not on my new one... :-s

Try going into Windows Classic (via the Personalization menu), sometimes games run better on XP then on Windows Seven/Vista, which is why some people still keep XP.
