I have an external hard drive that I would like to load all my DVD movies onto and play on a portable DVD player. I tried saving the movies as AVI/MPEG4/JPEG unfortunately the external DVD player did not recognise the files. I tried formatting the external hard drive to FAT32, however I have an error message stating the volume is too big for FAT32. Grateful for any advise on what to do next.

Hi,

Formatting it to Fat32 is good step taken by you.I guess your hard drive is of more than 100 Gb.Create a partition on your external device from disk management of 20Gb and add the movies to it then plug to video with the supported video formats it will be played.

Thanks

Hi,

Access disk management by opening run then enter this command, : diskmgmt.msc pressing enter/ok.Now you will see your device right click on it and select shrink ,input 20000 then create new partition selecting Fat file system.

Thanks
