How Do I Remove/Uninstall AVG Free

I have installed the AVG Free Virus Protection & now wish to remove it from my computer. I have had difficulties doing so for some time now. I have searched the web for tips & helpful ways to remove it & many of the sites advise to re-install & then uninstall. I have done so & have attempted many other techniques & tips which have failed me. I have also attempted the normal removal & it stops half way or has an error. If ANYBODY is able to help me then please do so, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time & help.
