Hello,

I'm wondering why my laptop can't run GTA IV at a reasonable framerate. My laptop is an Alienware M15X, bought just this summer. It usually runs games pretty well (for example, Crysis, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Fallout 3, Batman Arkham Asylum, FEAR and GTA San Andreas run very smoothly at high graphics or higher).
When I started up GTA IV, it ran at approximately 5 FPS. I have updated my drivers, and I started using GameBooster v.2.2, I read it could help. My framerate went from 5 to 10, but still, I have to put it in 800x600 and put all of the settings at the lowest.

I'm still researching on the Internet, I downloaded patches from Rockstar (without any noticeable effect), and I'm starting to think maybe I just wasted 20$ on a game I can't run properly. Can anyone help me?

Thank you,

Nazsha

I finally found something: I turned OFF the "Clip Capture" option, and now it runs perfectly.
