HP laptop cannot run with windows vista

Hello,

I've a problem about HP Laptop.
My HP laptop cannot run Vista after power-on, and I tried to insert Recovery disc and Vista disc , then press delete, press CD run. It still did not run. Finally, I inserted WinXP disc, press delete, press CD run. After a while, it works and jump to Vista.
Do I lose a file on Vista?
Please let me know if you can solve the problem. Thanks.

Hi Ben,

Please, make sure that your cd/dvd drive is at the first order in the boot sequence in your Bios.
