Toshiba Laptop only boots up with the batteryClosed

Question

Hello, 
 
My Toshiba Sattelite Pro A200 only boots up with the battery. The moment I connect the power able on to the laptop the screen goes off even the the harddrive lights goes off. The 
moment I remove the power cable and boot up with the battery the laptop boots up again. Please can someon help me with this problem.

please check your power chord.hope it won't be properly cared. Rather you should replace it with the new one. there might be a problem for not getting the exact power through this due to sudden damage. make sure it tightly plugged and ensure the quality ...else replace it.
