Desktop keyboard types wrong letter

Hello,

^When I type in certain numbers I also get letters and8 visa versa. Please help me. ie: I hit "w"I get 6w I hit "0" I get 30, I hit "d" I get d8, etc. Also backspace d8oesn't 6work. Please help!+

I suspect a hardware problem with the keyboard. I would first test with another keyboard, a laptop should accept a USB keyboard. You could also test with the onscreen keyboard that you can find in "Control Panel".

Laptop keyboards can often replaced with one found on Ebay. Just be sure to find the EXACT replacement procedure before you start removing screws.

Hi xpcman..I'm .Having problems with laptop keyboard typing the wrong letters. I have had a new keyboard installed but its still the same...I don't have a num lock on my keyboard. This is most frustrating. Have you any suggestions ....??? Regards Charlie.

Thanks for your help.. I had replaced the keyboard but still had problems..Appears to be the sensitivity of the laptop itself, near the pad...Have had that pad part disconnected, as I usually only use the mouse...

Had the same problem. Solved it by hitting the NUM LK/SCRN LK key.
