Acer laptop won't connect to the internet

Hello,
Recently my laptop started giving me problems.It's saying its connected to the internet but none of my browsers or desktop programs work can connect. Im running a windows 7 btw... The first time this happened it wad the firewall but I've let thr browsers go through. Any suggestions? Please and thank you.

When did this issue start?

Disable your antivirus

Check your proxy settings on the browsers.
