Hard disk is detected but unable to bios

hi,


I have p4 system, i have 500gb hard disk it was installed win7 before, now i formatted the c: and trying to do the WIn xp, after copying the some files it will ask for restart, after that it showing
press f2 for setup, f11 for boots......., if i press f2 screen it shows f2 setup................
thats it will come anything just like stable.
please help me about this,.

XP does not have the drivers for "advanced SATA" controllers. See if you can go into the BIOS and change the interface to IDE mode.
