my sims 3 for pc wont work.Closed

Hello, I bought the sims 3 for my girlfriend. She's been playing for months and now the game wont come up at all. she has unistalled it and reinstalled it. And it specifically says.(There was an error during start up. please check log.) We have no idea what that means can somebody help me?????
