What could cause asus laptop screen flicker

YO!

I've got a ASUS G71GX "desktop replacement laptop" and I've noticed that since GEEK SQUAD did some major repairs to a fan that jammed on my motherboard that once in a while I get a grayish horizontal pixel type series of lines shooting across my screen and the occasional screen flicker...

i haven't been able to figure out a pattern or a cause... much less how to fix said issue...
which brings me here

with the new star wars the old republic coming out on 12/20 I want to make sure my PC is in peak working condition
