My sims 3 games won't startClosed

Hello, 
Ok I updated my sims 3 game on the computer and ive been playing forever and all the sudden it won't let me play. A little wrist watch pops up and the green loading bar won't move at all. It says The SIMS3 and the grey bar under neath it I'm am so annoyed HELP
