No sound output

Hello,

I have got an HP d330 uT(DF385T) desktop with Windows xp sp3 Pro installed on it. It was given to me by cousin. Since i got it there seemed no sound coming out from it when i input a speaker at the back of it. I've installed a sound driver for the machine indicating that its has been successfully installed, showing the volume icon. but same problem still persist. Well it hasn't gotten an internal speaker nor any PCI's.
Please i therefore seek for help with my problem. Any assistance or help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
