Compaq laptop wont start up properly

Hello,


"my compaq laptop with windows 7 won't boot up properly, when switch on blank screen comes, when switch it again some times it works, pls, help me, thaks"

Keep pressing F8 when booting up (before Windows splash screen). You should get a menu. Select "Last Known Good Configuration" and see if that works for you.

thanks. also i checked again in the manual, it says to press the fn+f4 as well, is this normal, i would like to know the reason why this happens.....

Depending on what error/message you get at boot up, it could be the laptop didn't shut down properly or maybe your hard drive is going bad. Run some sort of disk utility on it and make sure you don't have any bad sectors. If you do, start backing up all your data (which you should always do anyways) in case your hard drive does crash.
