Hello,
I had an old computer and removed the hard disk which was still in good condition, and attached it to another pc with sata/ide cable. it worked fine but I did not transfer all data coz i was in a hurry. Next time I re connected this hard disk to continue with the transfer I had a message which told me to insert disk. The hard disk was working as I could feel it but the computer was not reading its data even though in 'my computer folder' there was the removable disk! Any ideas why I can't read the data? I tried to connect other hard disks and also changed to an other pc but with no result of getting any data from each hard disk.

Thanks.

Hello,

Try this 1

Click on Start --> Run --> Type diskmgmt.msc and click on OK.

Disk Management will be opened.

Then right-click on your drive ---> Select "Change Drive Letter and

Path.." --> Click on "Change" and assign different drive letter.

Change the volume name by right-clicking on your drive and select properties.

Enter your volume name.

Good Luck.
