IBM LENOVO thinkpad T43 cannot load audio driver

Hello, I'm having an issue with my lenovo T43 thinkpad's audio. everytime I try to install the driver, it goes to blue screen. This happens even in safe mode. Does anyone here know a solution?

You are not installing the proper driver.

I'm installing the realtek AC'97 audio driver that was recommended by the lenovo website. Can you suggest a different driver and send a link to the free download?

All I know about the machine is that it's an IBM Lenovo thinkpad T43 #26686DU serial#L3AP3G7. I hope that's enough info OS is XP SP3
