Maxtor One Touch external hard discClosed

Question

When I double click on the icon of my external hard disc Maxtor One touch the contents are displayed as Short Cuts only. When I double click any of the short cuts ity gives a message "Windows cannot find 'F\RECYCLER\2369e205.exe' and does not open further. How to avoid these only short cuts and no further access?

Try this Solution

Step 1:
Click on the link below and download the file "AutorunExterminator"
https://ccm.net/downloads/security-and-maintenance/5911-autorun-exterminator/
Extract it --> Double-click on "AutorunExterminator"
This will remove the recycler from the drives


Step 2:
For XP, go to Run and type CMD
Click OK
For Vista and 7, go to Start and type CMD
Right-click on it and select Run as Administrator
Now run this command:
attrib -h -r -s /s /d g:\*.*
Where 'g' refers to your external hard drive letter
This should unhide your files
Make sure you run a full scan with:

1) On double clicking the Autorun Exterminator the Recycler is not removed
2) In Windows XP, on going to Run and typing CMD, clicking OK and running the command attrib -h -r -s /s /d f:\*.* I get the message Access Denied- F:\system volume Information
