Only wallpaper is visible but no icons are displayed

till yesterday my laptop was working right but today when i logged into it i got only wallpaper but no any icons on the wallpapers which were previously there are not visible i can move the mouse cursor over the wallpaper but nothing is working .if i press any button also no any action taking place so plz help me

Hello

1. press alt+ctrl+del this will open the task manager.

2. Click on the application tab

3. Click on new task to open a window

4. in the window, type explorer.exe

5. Click okay

Your icons should have returned.

task manager is not opening even after pressing ctrl+alt+del so i made log off then i got my icons back but this will not happen every time i do it.....so plz help

Hi

You windows XP may be corrupted

1. Click on start
2. Click on run
3. Type cmd and press ok a black window will open
4. Type sfc/scannow and press enter
5. Let it run
6. Tell me the message
7. Close the window
