Windows not recognizing my internal hard drive

i have a seagate 500gb internal hard drive.i wanted to take a file of 100gb from my friend,so i took out my internal hdd and connected it using sata to usb adapter and some cables and connected to his computer so it asked to format the hdd and i formatted it and took the file i wanted after that when i tried to insert the hdd again and install windows 8 through a cd it was not recognizing my hdd.it gave an option of browse so in the list it showed my hdd as local disk C.when i clicked on it,it said to format it.i tried to format it and it showed that windows cant format bthe drive . now i dont have any os in my hdd what to do?how to install os in it??plz help

Wow, what a tough lesson to learn. You must build a USB drive with Bootable ISO of OS install. Change your bios to boot from usb and rebuild it.

OK, What O/S?

Do you have a dvd player?

Have you ever accessed the bios before?

Get a version of the OS that matched the License on your machine, and spin it up in the DVD drive. When it prompts you , select repair installation.
