Showing invisible files on external hard drive

Hello,
I got a virus on my external hard drive from lending it to a friend. I have removed the virus no probe but now all of the items on there are invisible?

How do i get these back to show as they used too? Looking through all forums and nothing really about mac.. mostly window issues so any help would be great!

Maybe try this.

1. Goto the folder, Computer
2. Click on the Organize button in the top left
3. Click Folder and Search Options
4. Go into the View tab
5. And check the box, Show hidden files, folders, and drives.
