LG monitor wont leave power saving mode

Please help me!!!!, Im trying to take a few deep breaths.....I have an LG monitor & an HP desktop computer. Computer was perfectly fine not too long ago, in fact had it wiped & started all over with Windows 7. Now my monitor only says Power Saving Mode! I even bought brand new cords for both the desktop & the monitor. Suggestions please & thanks :)

What a wipe out!

A monitor will not go to sleep all by itself unless you sing Brahms' lullaby.

Have you tried connecting to another monitor to see if you get a signal?
Can you hear the fan or the disk running?

Hello

I'm not familiar with what seems to be a Canadian expression. Please explain what you mean by: "had it wiped & started all over with Windows 7".

I wiped the sweat from my brow with the back of my hand.

Lol, thank you I needed a laugh so badly! I mean that the hard drive was wiped clean & then we reinstalled windows. It was working fine but now after no changes to anything the monitor will not get out of power saving mode.
