Corrupt PDF files in received e-mail

I have a sbs2011 installation with exchange 2010. Also there is a sonicwall TZ210 with anti spam service enabled. No extra anti spam or AV software installed on server. All recent updates implemented.
In some (not all) received e-mail with pdf attachments, the pdf attachment becomes corrupt when opening. The e-mail is delivered directly to the mail server (no pop connector used)

The PDF corruption problem continues to exist between outlook clients for some reason. Here is a great fix that seems to be working at the moment: https://newcomputerinquiry.com/attaching-pdf-outlook-gets-corrupted-solution/
