Hard drive doesn't open [Solved/Closed]

I have external hard drive that can not open. It displays message file or directory corrupted and unreadable.

Disk management (Local)

The color blue good
The color Black corrupted

Black color Repair
Push the right mouse and New Simple Volume

Click Next

and Next

Now we choose new letter from the list.

Click Next

Next and Finish

this process is for formating the disk but i want to keep my data. option for formating is automatically coming without using this process.

Hi JoelAlara,

I recommend you to test the drive on another PC and with another USB cable. Is it visible in Disk Management and does it have a drive letter? I would try using the chkdsk D: /f command from the Command Prompt (D should be replaced with the external's drive letter).
