Net is not working when my local network is enabled

Please show me a solution for my problem
Problem: I am using windows xp as my Os and am directly pined the Net cable and also am pinned with my local network when am using my network Net is not connected and when my network disabled Net is connecting it is the problem when i upload the files i want to use my local network but it networking so please tell me the right solution for me as soon as possible.
