Hard disk corrupted and unreadable

i have used chkdsk command but it si displaying " the type of file system is NTFS ".

Hi Amudalalalith,

Is the drive internal? Could you please open Disk Management and check how does the drive appear? Does it appear as initialized and does it have a drive letter? If it does not have, try to assign one, right clicking the drive. Which chkdsk command have you used? Was it chkdsk D: /f (D should be replaced with the drive letter of your drive)?
If the drive is external, try it another PC and with another USB cable. Do you have valuable information on the drive?
