I was able to connect to my server from a remote desktop but then it stopped connecting. When I check the server it appears to be on and running. I am new to working with servers so I'm unsure how I should start troubleshooting. Thanks

HOw are you connecting? Are you on the same network as it is? Can you ping it? Did you set the server to restart hosting upon restart?

Let us know what OS and how you are connecting. Also, what is the server for?

I am on the same network. I can't ping it it's not responding. Do I need to reset the server? How is that done? It is a school server.

OK, so what name or number are you putting into the remote desktop connection?

The IP address. It worked fine and then stopped

Well, it seems your server is no longer accepting remote connections. Rebooot. Ask your teacher!

Very funny. You assume a school can afford people who know such things!! So I assume I just restart it.

I am not trying to be funny! You had mentioned it was a school server.

Do you have physical access to the server? Reboot it! You never mentioned what the server role was!

I hope you have FUN!

I have said it once, I will say it again. IT!
