Removable Drive Shortcut Virus recover my lost files

Hello,

I had a Removable Drive Shortcut Virus in my USB flash, I copied the Flash Drive (G:) to D: drive and Formatted the Flash Drive,
Now please help me how could I recover my lost files in the (G) folder which I copied to D: drive??
Copied folder has occupied space of 2 GB but the folder is empty.
Show hidden button didn't work for me.
Please I need solution for this soon

You will not be able to recover your files because you only copied shortcut icons to D. The virus (worm) should have first been removed from the infected drive G.
