Shortcuts cannot open word doc

Please help!

I used a memory stick in my college last night, opened only one document and when I got home, I opened the document and it was blank, no file size. In my search files folder I see shortcuts on my C drive etc and some have file size. But can open none. It's my unfinished assignment to hand in Sunday! I can't say how much of flap I am 8n right now ; ( I have tried cmd prompt thing I'm googling it hours now. Feel like crying... Help
