Computer screen went dark [Solved]

I was watching a movie on my laptop and everything was normal. Then all of a sudden the screen went black.
It was plugged into power at the time, so the battery was not flat and it wasn't just the screen, the whole computer stopped making any noises.
It won't turn back on and there is nothing coming from the machine except there is a white flashing light where the orange battery light is usually when it is plugged into the wall. I have tried re-plugging in to power and turning it on a thousand times but nothing seems to work.
I don't know what this means or how to fix it! Can anyone help? Thank you

Try this

1. Remove the battery and cable.

2. Press and hold the power button for 58 seconds.

3. Replug and start.

Good luck

Can you explain why it worked? and if I need to worry about it doing it again any time soon?

Thanks again! Great Help!

You are most welcome!

Laptops accumulate what is called "flea" power which stagnates and blocks the power flow. The solution is to drain the flea power, it's like unplugging.
