Hello,
i don't know if my sound card is dead, but i have a hp pavilion dv2000 laptop with linux lite on it, and it says in the sound settings, "no cards available for configuration". I love linux and would like to have sound. I don't know if it's just a driver it's not recognizing. When I had windows on this, before I cleaned installed linux to it, it had a conexant audio driver, I believe. Any ideas for me? Right now I'm using a little usb sound thingie that gets sound through headphones or speakers, but I would like to have the system sounds so that I can use Skype (needs mic too). no system sounds, means no working mic too.

Does your build of linux have a driver? You failed to mention what load you are using!
