I am not certain what you are asking....did you give your application rights to run in the application pool, or what?
Please post back with more details of the environment. Please post any errors you receive, along with how the errors are being produced. Then tell us how the errors are produced with details such as:when connecting from internet, or when connecting from PC not hosting the app, or what ever.
It sounds to me like you haven't quite read all of the "cut and paste" articles you have been cutting your app from!
