My laptop shuts down while playing the sims 3.

after playing the game for a little while, my laptop will just shut down. It's done this multiple times and i dont know why.

What is the placement of your laptop like? In other words, do you have it on a table, or a pillow, or blanket? It really sounds like it is getting hot!

I normally have it on my lap, sometimes with a blanket on my legs.

It really needs a solid surface under it, so air can enter the bottom and exit the top! I was guilty of this type of usage, until I fried one myself! The bare lap is fine (minus the skin burns), just dont put on pillow or blanket! If you do, get a very large book and place on top of that for an "AIRGAP"!
