Unable to find operating system

Hello,
I was trying to fix a keyboard problem that some of the keys where not working.

I removed the battery, reinstalled the battery , and held down the power button for 60 sec.

the next thing I saw was " unable to find operating system"

did I wipe out the computer, or does it have a hard drive issue?

It has a hardware issue. BOot into bios and see if the HDD is listed as the boot device!
