Hi Zell,
Could you please give us some more details about the connection you are trying to create? What I imagine should work if the adapter is working properly. Please test it with a smart phone. If you can get a signal on screen, the issue may be laptop related. You may need to check the screen settings. Does the TV appear as a secondary screen? What video ports do you have on your laptop? Do you think you can use another type of adapter?
