I lost my flash drive and I need a file that was on it.

I had a report 90% done and it was saved on my flash drive. I lost the flash drive and need to recover the file. (Note. I can see the name of the file when I open word on the computer that I was using but it says that word cannot find the file). I am using a mac computer.
